Duncan’s Work

BX Coding
2019-present

Duncan founded BX Coding in 2019 alongside Elliot Roe.

BX Coding, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, has taught computer science and engineering to hundreds of students ages 6-14. BX Coding develops computer science curricula and educational technology, along with running STEM summer camps in Columbus, Ohio.

Duncan is the Executive Director of BX Coding.

Patch
2022-Present

Patch is a free and open-source coding platform to help students transition from block-based coding (Scratch) to text-based coding (Python), currently being developed by BX Coding.

In 2023, Duncan became a Laidlaw Scholar, and pursued a research project developing a middle school curriculum that teaches Python using Patch.

Spring 2022

In December 2022, Duncan worked full time at LittleSeed.io, a Columbus-based company that specializes in building games for children’s hospitals.

Duncan worked on a diagnostic video game that is being deployed to dozens of hospitals across the world to evaluate children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
